Andrew Cornish, former chief executive of Middlesex County Cricket Club, was dismissed in June following a seven-month investigation that upheld a complaint of "engaging in unwanted physical contact with a female employee." The alleged incident occurred during a work-related night out in November near the club's grounds at Lord's.
The complaint was referred to the Cricket Regulator, the sport's independent disciplinary body, which led to Cornish being placed on a leave of absence. During the investigation, three additional female colleagues reportedly came forward with complaints regarding alleged inappropriate comments made by Cornish.
Middlesex County Cricket Club confirmed Cornish's dismissal but provided no further details. The Cricket Regulator stated it does not comment on ongoing investigations, though its report on the case is expected to be published soon.
Cornish, 60, has previously denied any wrongdoing and is reportedly considering legal action for unfair dismissal. Middlesex County Cricket Club faces a separate misconduct charge related to Cornish's alleged behavior and could be subject to a fine if the charge is upheld.
The club has experienced a period of turbulence in recent years, including financial penalties and a previous misconduct charge against another senior employee that was not upheld.
