Craig Melvin Stumbles Through Awkward Interview with Parker Posey

A live interview on the Today show took an awkward turn when host Craig Melvin appeared to mispronounce the word "horror," leaving guest Parker Posey momentarily stunned.

Melvin, 47, was introducing Posey, 57, to discuss her latest projects when he said, "Before I let you get out of here, we gotta talk horror." Posey reacted with visible confusion, covering her mouth.

Melvin quickly attempted to correct himself, enunciating, "No, hor-ror!" Posey responded, "I thought you called me a whore." Melvin apologized, stating, "I did not call you a whore! H-O-R-R-O-R. Horror. I did not enunciate well."

The exchange continued with further awkwardness when Melvin asked about her new horror film, "Sleepover." Posey stated, "I'm not doing it... I'm not doing it anymore. Something came up." Melvin appeared to squirm, remarking, "Okay, well, now it's even more awkward than usual."

The interview concluded on a more positive note when Posey congratulated Melvin on his recent win in People's Sexiest Man Alive Readers' Choice Poll.

This incident follows a separate on-air moment involving Today show co-host Al Roker, who reportedly faced criticism for a nickname he used for Jenna Bush Hager. Roker referred to Hager, 44, as "Big Red" while she was wearing a red outfit. Hager and other colleagues explained that such comments could be perceived negatively.
