Craig Carton Claims Giants 'Hate' Fans Over Jaxson Dart Injury Handling

Outkick host Craig Carton suggested the New York Giants organization "hates" its fan base due to how the team handled the news of quarterback Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury. Dart sustained multiple ligament tears in his left knee during Monday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, an injury that will require surgery and end his 2026 season.

During the "Monday Night Football" broadcast, ESPN's Laura Rutledge reported comments from Giants General Manager Joe Schoen, who indicated that Dart would be fine and the injury was not a cause for major concern. Carton argued that this initial assessment, suggesting a minor MCL sprain with a potential return within weeks, proved to be misleading.

Following the game, initial reports suggested Dart might miss four to six weeks with an MCL sprain. However, subsequent reports revealed a more severe injury, casting doubt on his ability to play again this season. Carton criticized Giants head coach John Harbaugh for not providing clearer information during his Tuesday press conference, especially given the conflicting reports emerging around the same time.

"The Giants hate you because they’re protecting information like it’s, I don’t know, what’s a good comparison? They’re protecting information like it’s McCarthyism back in the day," Carton stated, drawing a parallel to historical suppression of information. He contended that the team, which has struggled for a decade, owed its fans more transparency.

Carton asserted that injury updates typically originate from team sources or the player's representatives. He questioned why, after the seriousness of Dart's injury became apparent, the Giants did not acknowledge it more directly, particularly in Harbaugh's press conference which occurred shortly after insider reports surfaced.

"You’d think that after a decade of losing and all the promise this year, the least the Giants could do is be straight with their fan base," Carton added. He concluded that despite potential wins against weaker opponents in the coming weeks, the Giants' season effectively ended with Dart's injury and the perceived lack of honest communication with their supporters.
