Court Hears of Blood, Fingerprints Found in Vehicle Used by Accused in Double Murder

Evidence presented in court revealed that blood belonging to Jesse Baird and Luke Davies was found in a Toyota HiAce that authorities allege was used by Beau Lamarre-Condon to transport the belongings of the two men after their deaths. Senior Sergeant Bronwyn Lansley testified Wednesday that Lamarre-Condon rented the vehicle on February 18, 2024, the night before Baird and Davies were allegedly murdered.

Vehicle Forensics and Disposal of Evidence

The following day, Lamarre-Condon allegedly used the rental car to move the victims' bloodied belongings from Paddington to Cronulla. Police later seized the vehicle, a Mazda CX5, after it had been returned to the rental company, Hertz, and rented out to other drivers. A forensic investigation of the car uncovered blood stains in the boot.

In addition to the vehicle, investigators found four bloodied white AFL goal umpire flags in a skip bin, along with bedsheets, clothing, and seven bone fragments. The court was shown images of the contents of garbage bags found in the bin, which included bloodied linen, clothing items such as a white hoodie, grey denim shorts, a white t-shirt, a grey button-up shirt, white boxer shorts, black and red Calvin Klein underpants, a beaded bracelet, and a gold pendant necklace. Some of the sheets displayed bloodied shoe prints.

Discovery of Bone Fragments and Fingerprints

Six bone fragments identified as belonging to Baird were discovered within a blood-soaked bed sheet. A bone fragment identified as belonging to Davies was found in a canvas bag. Senior Sergeant Lansley testified that Lamarre-Condon's fingerprints were found on one of the bags containing evidence. Jesse Baird was known as a television presenter and a weekend AFL umpire.
