Couple Enjoys Drinks Amidst Paris Riots, Jogger Weaves Through Fires
Viral footage captures French citizens appearing unfazed by widespread unrest and looting.
A French couple has gained significant attention after being filmed calmly enjoying drinks at an outdoor cafe while fires raged behind them during widespread riots in Paris.
In a separate video from the French capital, a woman was seen jogging through a smoke-filled street, seemingly unaffected by the surrounding chaos.
The unrest, described as the worst rioting in years, led to approximately 2,500 arrests across France over the weekend. In Paris alone, 855 arrests were made as groups clashed with police and looted stores.
French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the violence, attributing it to radical left-wing groups and criminal elements. However, Macron faced criticism for embarking on a trip to the Middle East shortly after his address.
In response to the escalating violence, French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu imposed curfews in parts of Paris and Marseille, among other areas nationwide.
