A couple on a weekend trip to Dundee woke to find an intruder in their Travelodge hotel room. Harry Grieve and Kim Hutchison reported that a man, appearing to be in his mid-20s and shirtless, was at the end of their bed.
Hutchison described the experience as "petrifying." The couple took measures to secure their room, placing a chair against the door, before attempting to sleep. Grieve later went to reception to inquire about the security breach but found no one present.
Police were called to the hotel around the same time due to a separate disturbance. No arrests were made in connection with the incident involving Grieve and Hutchison's room. The couple decided to cut their weekend short and return home to Buckie.
Following the incident, the couple contacted Travelodge for answers. They reported a delay of about two weeks before receiving a response, despite multiple attempts to reach the company by email and phone. A representative from Travelodge later offered an apology for the incident.
