Country music artist Orville Peck has revealed a past intimate encounter with a professional football player in his new song, "Ring the Bell." The openly gay singer sings about having "made out with a guy on the Raiders," a lyric that he secured permission to use from the athlete in question.

In an interview with Variety, Peck stated that the athlete was "very thrilled" and "very, very honored" to have the experience referenced in the song. Peck explained that he wanted to keep the identity of the player ambiguous, allowing listeners to "use their own common sense and discovery to try to figure out who it may be."

The lyric appears approximately one minute into "Ring the Bell," which is featured on Peck's new album, "Mule." The song also references other sports affiliations, with Peck singing, "I love the Lakers, the Mets and the Longhorns."

Peck's new album was released on Friday. The singer has not commented on whether he will attend the Raiders' upcoming game against the Chargers in Los Angeles on Sunday.
