Country singer Nate Smith has undergone a significant transformation, losing more than 70 pounds and experiencing a renewed sense of energy that he says has improved his ability to perform on stage. The "Bulletproof" singer shared that he has dropped from approximately 275 pounds to under 200 pounds, with a new goal of reaching 185 pounds.
Smith revealed in an interview that the weight loss has directly addressed issues of breathlessness he previously experienced, even during simple tasks. "I don't sweat anymore, which is amazing," Smith said. "I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes." He also noted the ability to "jump around a lot more" on stage, emphasizing his desire to maintain energy for his fans.
The singer's health journey began in 2024 following a medical scare, which prompted him to address overeating and excessive drinking. By focusing on reducing his daily caloric intake, he lost nearly 50 pounds within a few months. While acknowledging ongoing struggles with binge eating, Smith aims to integrate such indulgences as occasional treats rather than a lifestyle.
Beyond performance, Smith has observed other positive changes, including feeling better overall and being able to wear clothing he prefers. He described his current red carpet attire as a size large, a significant shift from the double extra-large sizes he had worn for the previous five to six years. "I'm way happier where I'm at, and I feel like better about the way I look," he stated.
