Country music singer Megan Moroney was forced to cut short her performance at Denver's Ball Arena on Tuesday night after becoming too unwell to continue.
Moroney had performed only three songs before returning to the stage to address the audience, apologizing through tears as she announced the cancellation. "I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just can't play this show tonight," she told concertgoers, according to fan-recorded video.
The venue later confirmed the show's abrupt end due to Moroney's illness, stating, "Megan is unable to continue her performance this evening due to illness, and we must end the show at this time." Attendees were directed to the nearest exit, and information regarding the cancellation was to be posted on the venue's website.
Moroney expressed her devastation on social media, calling the decision "the hardest decision" she has ever had to make. "I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight," she wrote in an Instagram message, adding, "I'm typing this as I'm quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all."
The concert has been rescheduled for August 27, with tickets purchased for the original date being honored. Fans unable to attend the new date can request refunds.
The cancellation occurred during Moroney's current tour, which follows the success of her third album and a series of sold-out shows. Her breakout hit "Tennessee Orange" propelled her into the country music spotlight, followed by albums including "Lucky" and "Am I Okay?" She has also received ACM and CMA awards for top new female artist.
