Country Singer Orville Peck Hints at Romance with Las Vegas Raiders Player

Country singer Orville Peck has sent social media into a frenzy with a lyric on his new album, "Mule," suggesting he made out with a player from the Las Vegas Raiders. The openly gay artist included the line, "made out with a guy on the Raiders," in his song "Ring the Bell."

Peck confirmed to Variety that he received permission from the player in question to include the lyric, describing the athlete as "very thrilled." However, Peck declined to name the individual, stating he preferred to keep the detail "sort of ambiguous and mysterious." He added that he would not have included the lyric if the person was "hiding or fearful of it coming out."

When asked if the player was Carl Nassib, the first openly gay man to play in an NFL game, Peck did not confirm or deny the speculation. "People can use their own common sense and discovery to try and figure out who it may be, but that's all I'll say," Peck stated.

Nassib, a former Raiders defensive end, came out as gay in 2021 and made history as the first actively gay player to participate in a regular season NFL game. He also became the first openly gay player to participate in an NFL playoff game. Nassib has not publicly commented on the lyrics.
