Country singer Ella Langley has addressed a viral video capturing her response to a fan who asked her out after a concert in Knoxville, Tennessee. The fan, identified as TikTok user Tiki, posted a video of himself asking Langley for a date, shouting through a fence in the venue's parking lot, "Ella, how many likes to take you on a date?"
Langley, appearing to frown, responded, "Not enough in the world," before looking away. The fan then responded, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
Following the video's circulation, some social media users criticized Langley's reaction. Comments included sentiments such as "This rubbed me the wrong way. And I like her," and "Literally what is her problem?" Others suggested she "could have laughed and said no in a whole different way."
Langley responded to the criticism in the comments section of the video, explaining her intent. "It was meant to come off as dark humor. You said that and it got quiet and I got nervous," she wrote.
