Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge End 9-Year Relationship

Reality television personalities Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge have announced the end of their nine-year relationship. Both stars shared statements on their respective Instagram accounts on Thursday, confirming their separation.

Selfridge, 32, revealed that she was the one who initiated the breakup. In a message posted to her Instagram Story, she stated, "I was sick of not getting basic respect from the person I was with for nine years and the father of my two children. I’m sure everyone could tell the last few years. I deserve more than that, and I’ll get it. End of story."

Wharton, 35, also addressed the split on his Instagram feed, posting a photo with his three daughters. "Taylor and I have decided to go our separate ways," he wrote. "As hard as that is to say publicly, I think it’s important to be honest about where my life is at this moment. We shared a lot of years, memories, love and most importantly, we have two beautiful daughters."

He further apologized to Selfridge, stating, "I’m sorry, Taylor, that things didn’t work out the way we both hoped they would. I know there were times I could’ve been better, and I’m sorry for the ways I let you down."

Wharton, who shares daughters Maya and Mila with Selfridge, and daughter Ryder with ex Cheyenne Floyd, emphasized that his daughters are his "entire world." He expressed a desire to "show up for them even more" as he enters this "new chapter," which he described as a period of personal work, learning from mistakes, and growing.

The split follows Wharton's flirty interactions with his "The Challenge" castmate Izzy Fairthorne during Season 42 of the MTV competition series. Fairthorne, 27, had previously commented on the situation in an interview with Page Six last month, indicating that she was not fully aware of the complexities of Wharton's relationship with Selfridge at the time.

"At the time, I was told what his situation was at home, and maybe it wasn’t the full truth. I don’t think it was," Fairthorne said. "And that’s why when Nelson came to me, I was obviously very shocked and taken aback [by] how rude he was. But then ultimately, that also made me realize there’s something else going on here and there’s a reason he’s doing it."

Wharton, in his statement on X (formerly Twitter), mentioned that he had already apologized to Selfridge, "the person who needed to hear it the most." He added, "I’m going to continue to handle things behind closed doors. It’s been a very long time since I haven’t been proud of who I see on camera, and this is one of those times."
