Coronation Street Star Sells Belongings for Wedding Fund

Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson is raising funds for her wedding by selling personal belongings at a car boot sale. Hudson, who announced her engagement to Lewis Devine in April, reported earning over £300 from her sales, with the money earmarked for her wedding fund. She described the experience as enjoyable, having sold a variety of items from her garage, including old shoes, baskets, lamps, and plant pots.

Hudson detailed the early start required for the sale, noting her alarm failed to go off and she woke up at 6:30 a.m., rushing to the venue to set up before dawn. Her neighbor and children joined her later in the morning to assist. The actress mentioned that her fiancé, Lewis Devine, also attended but was more inclined to buy items than sell them, humorously stating he would not be invited to future sales.

In addition to raising funds, Hudson shared an update on her life, discussing her experiences with perimenopause, motherhood, and her acting career, which she described as involving more rejection in recent years. She plans to share more about wellness and self-care on her social media.

Hudson and Devine announced their engagement in April, following an eight-year relationship. Devine proposed during a private trip to the Lake District, a place significant to their early memories. Hudson described the proposal as a quiet, personal moment.

Hudson was previously married to Coronation Street co-star Alan Halsall, with whom she shares a daughter. She also has a son with her fiancé, Lewis Devine. The actress, who first gained prominence on Coronation Street in 2002 as Katy Harris, has also appeared in other television dramas such as Wild at Heart, Doctors, Hollyoaks, and Casualty.
