Republican Senator John Cornyn is continuing to obstruct Todd Blanche's confirmation as attorney general, citing "new complications" as of Thursday morning. Cornyn has presented specific demands to the Department of Justice, requiring written confirmation that the approximately $1.8 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund" has been officially terminated. Additionally, he seeks a narrowed scope for President Donald Trump's immunity deal with the IRS.

Cornyn indicated that while Blanche may understand the issues, he is likely facing resistance from the White House, which is complicating the confirmation process. "I think he's probably getting some pushback from the White House, and that's making things more complicated than there needs to be," Cornyn told ABC News.
