Free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold, who faces eight felony charges including kidnapping and armed robbery, has drawn interest from multiple NFL teams, including a "great visit and great tryout" with the Seattle Seahawks.
Mike Macdonald, head coach of the Seahawks, confirmed Arnold's visit on Monday, stating that the team is "aware of" and "working through" the situation surrounding the charges. "But it was a great visit. I really enjoyed meeting him, and I think he enjoyed being here, so we'll see where it goes," Macdonald told reporters.
Arnold, 23, has also worked out for the Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints. He is scheduled to visit the New York Giants on Wednesday, according to a team source. The nature of that visit, whether it includes a tryout, remains unconfirmed.
Arnold was released by the Detroit Lions in February after being selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has since cleared waivers after posting a $1 million bond and is currently under court orders to remain at his residence in Tallahassee, Florida, unless he is training, playing, or traveling with an NFL team. His passport has also been surrendered.
Prosecutors allege that Arnold orchestrated a plan to lure three men to an apartment where they were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint. The victims, described as young men in their late teens, sustained visible injuries. Prosecutors claim the incident was in retaliation for Arnold reporting approximately $250,000 worth of personal items, including cash and a necklace, stolen from an AirBNB property in Florida shortly before the alleged crime.
Arnold's agent, Denise White of EAG Sports Management, has stated that her client "maintains his innocence" and "categorically denies any involvement." White added that there is "no credible evidence" linking Arnold to the allegations, suggesting the prosecution relies on testimony from convicted felons who may be seeking to reduce their sentences.
Arnold was arrested along with several co-defendants, including Arianna Del Valle and Jasmine Randazzo, who have pleaded guilty to their roles. Del Valle, believed to be Arnold's girlfriend, reportedly lured the victims to the apartment, and investigators claim she streamed the incident to Arnold and others. Investigators also allege discovering a group chat where Arnold and co-defendants instructed others on the assault. The victims were ultimately released and subsequently informed the Tampa Police Department, identifying the suspects.
During his two years with the Lions, Arnold played in 24 games, with 22 starts, recording one interception and 18 pass deflections. Prosecutors had previously requested Arnold be fitted with an ankle monitor, but his attorneys successfully argued it would prevent him from playing football, and the judge agreed.
