Cornell Fraternity Member Accused in Sexual Assault Case Reportedly Relocated to Dubai

One of the seven Cornell University fraternity brothers accused in a lawsuit of gang rape has reportedly moved to Dubai, a neighbor told the Daily Mail. The fraternity brother, identified by media reports as Matthew Ingalls, is among those expelled from the Ivy League school following allegations that surfaced in a lawsuit filed in September.

The lawsuit, filed by a woman identified only as Jane Doe, claims she was sexually assaulted in the Chi Phi fraternity house in 2024. Ingalls was a member of the Chi Phi chapter, which was founded in 1868 and was shut down and barred from campus in 2024 after the allegations emerged.

According to the lawsuit, Ingalls and six other fraternity brothers are accused of sexual assault. Screenshots of Snapchat messages filed with the complaint allegedly show Ingalls expressing enthusiasm for the fraternity and making suggestive comments. One message from a member of the group reportedly asked "Shop still open?" shortly after a photograph of Jane Doe was shared among them.

Ingalls reportedly enjoyed a privileged upbringing in the Middle East, attending an elite private school in Emirates Hills, a wealthy enclave in Dubai often referred to as the "Beverly Hills of Dubai." His alleged relocation to the city aligns with this background, according to the neighbor.

The case has drawn significant attention to Cornell University and the fraternity system. The Chi Phi chapter at Cornell has since been permanently closed, and the university has taken steps to address the allegations, though details of specific disciplinary actions beyond expulsions have not been widely publicized.
