Cooluli is voluntarily recalling approximately 250,000 minifridges sold on Amazon.com and Cooluli.com due to an electrical switch defect that poses a fire and burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall after receiving at least 19 reports of the appliances smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating, or catching fire.
According to the CPSC, the affected minifridges have caused more than $80,000 in reported property damage. One consumer also reported a smoke inhalation injury. The recall covers specific 10-liter and 15-liter models from Cooluli’s Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty, and Vibe series, sold between January 2019 and October 2024 for between $80 and $120.
These recalled units feature an internal power supply with both AC and DC power input ports on the back, distinguishing them from unaffected models which have a single DC port. The minifridges were available in various colors and designs, with the "Cooluli" brand name printed on the front.
The affected batch numbers include 1535 through 1545 and 1200000 through 1202080. Consumers can find their product's model and batch numbers on a label located inside the minifridge door. The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled minifridges.
To receive a free replacement power cord, consumers must visit Cooluli's recall website, enter their model and batch numbers to confirm if their unit is affected, and then unplug the minifridge, cut its power cord, and submit photographic proof of the model and batch numbers. Cooluli will then provide a replacement DC power cord and a sticker to cover the AC port. The affected minifridges were manufactured in China by Ningbo Iceberg Electronic Appliance Co., Ltd., and imported by Brooklyn, New York-based Lisse USA LLC.
