Molly Martens, 42, is pregnant and six months along, more than a decade after she and her father bludgeoned her husband, Jason Corbett, to death. The news comes as Martens has been building a new life in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her boyfriend, Josh Parrott.

Martens revealed her pregnancy on social media, seeking advice from other expectant mothers. Her due date is projected for late November. She has reportedly moved in with Parrott, an engineer, in Kingston, Tennessee, a town about 30 minutes from Knoxville. Parrott purchased the home in October 2025, prior to the start of their relationship, and Martens' name is not on the property deed.

This development marks a significant personal milestone for Martens, who was released from prison in June 2024 after serving a sentence for the voluntary manslaughter of her husband. The case gained notoriety and was the subject of a Netflix documentary, "A Deadly American Marriage." Martens and her father, Tom, were convicted in 2017 of second-degree murder for the 2015 killing of Jason Corbett, 39, an Irish businessman. They were sentenced to 20 to 25 years, but their convictions were overturned on appeal in 2021. In October 2023, they accepted a plea deal for voluntary manslaughter, receiving a sentence of four years and three months. Both were released in June 2024.

Prosecutors argued that the killing was motivated by Martens' desire to adopt Corbett's two children, Sarah and Jack, and his plans to return to Ireland with them. Martens had been hired as the children's nanny after Corbett's first wife died. She and Corbett married in 2011. During their marriage, Martens' inability to conceive and her desire to adopt the existing children created tension. Evidence presented during the trial suggested Martens was exploring options for having a child independently, including alleged attempts to obtain "superior sperm" and fertility drugs, some funded by her parents.

Martens has consistently maintained that she killed Corbett in self-defense, citing alleged physical and emotional abuse. Her father, Tom Martens, a former FBI agent, was also convicted in the crime.

Corbett's family has expressed ongoing distress over the outcome of the legal proceedings. Jason Corbett's daughter, Sarah Corbett Lynch, stated that it is a relief that no children are currently involved in Martens' life, referencing her own experiences as a victim of abuse. Jack Corbett, Jason's son, expressed deep concern for the unborn child, stating his hope that the baby will be born healthy and grow up safe, protected from harm. He noted his ongoing recovery from the abuse he and his sister endured, saying, "I will never fully heal." He added that his fear is that another child could experience similar trauma.

Following her release, Martens initially lived separately from her father due to parole restrictions but has since moved back in with him after both were released from supervision. She has reportedly returned to work at an interior design firm, her first employment since her release. Her purchase of a new Hyundai Tucson SUV has also been noted as a preparation for motherhood.
