Conservative Caller Expresses Frustration with Republicans, Considers Voting Democrat
A 77-year-old self-identified conservative caller stated on a radio show that she is so displeased with the Republican party that she might vote for Democrats for the first time in her life.
A 77-year-old caller, identifying herself as Melanie from North Carolina, expressed significant frustration with the Republican party during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Wrap-Up Show.” Melanie, who stated she has always been conservative and never voted for a Democrat, told host Emily Jashinsky that her support for Donald Trump waned after his appointment of Pam Bondi as attorney general.
Melanie indicated that the situation deteriorated further after Bondi’s April dismissal amid controversy over her handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein. The caller conveyed a sense of helplessness regarding the political landscape, stating, “We’re just, as a country, we’re just screwed because it doesn’t matter who you vote for. It does not matter.”
She articulated her discontent with Republicans, saying, “And I’m so pissed at the Republicans that I just might go and vote straight ticket Democrat just because, just because. Why should I be loyal to them? We’re just so screwed.” Melanie reiterated her anger toward Republicans, concluding, “We’re just screwed. We’re just screwed no matter what.” Jashinsky acknowledged that she believed many people felt similarly.
