Conor Kennedy, RFK Jr.'s Son, Celebrates Wedding in Rio de Janeiro
The three-day celebration included a blessing at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.
Conor Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Brazilian pop star Giulia Bourguignon Marinho, professionally known as Giulia Be, held a multi-day wedding celebration in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month.
The festivities, which began October 8, encompassed several iconic locations in the Brazilian city. The celebration included a blessing at the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado Mountain, a ceremony at the Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Antiga Sé in downtown Rio, and a reception at a historic mansion in Jardim Botânico.
The couple had previously married in a private civil ceremony in Los Angeles in March. Marinho told Vogue that the Rio celebration was intended to honor the city they love and provide an opportunity for Kennedy’s friends and family to experience Brazil. "Being there, overlooking Rio, with our family was one of those moments I’ll never forget," she said.
The wedding events spanned three days. Festivities reportedly began with a welcome party in Alto da Boa Vista. The following day included beach volleyball on Ipanema before the blessing at Christ the Redeemer. The reception was held at Instituto Brando Barbosa, located in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, which is known for its botanical garden.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared photos from the event on social media, showing family members and guests, including his wife, Cheryl Hines, and former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The newly married couple was also pictured checking their phones for updates on a football game.
Conor Kennedy is the grandson of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy. Marinho's bridal attire for the blessing, a Calvin Klein slip dress, was noted by Vogue for its resemblance to the style of Conor Kennedy’s late aunt by marriage, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
