Influencer Connor Murphy, known for his "looksmaxxing" content, died on July 7 in Thailand in what authorities have described as an apparent drowning. He was 32.

Friends of the content creator confirmed his death on social media posts the following day. Police in Samut Prakan province were called to a high-end rental home after receiving a report that a man was behaving erratically before entering a nearby lake. Witnesses told local media that Murphy swam for several minutes before appearing to lose strength. They did not attempt to enter the water, citing the lake's depth of over 10 meters (approximately 33 feet).

Divers located Murphy approximately 20 meters from the shore after a search lasting about 30 minutes. Police stated that an initial examination of his body revealed no visible signs of assault. His body was transported to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for a post-mortem examination, with full autopsy and toxicology findings pending.

Murphy and his 22-year-old girlfriend had been staying at the luxury villa under a three-month rental agreement. The homeowner reportedly stated the property is valued at about 22 million baht (roughly $600,000) and was being rented for 35,000 baht per month (just over $1,000). Police found that parts of the home, including furniture, decorations, and appliances, had been splashed with black and yellow paint. His girlfriend told authorities that the damage appeared to have occurred overnight while she was asleep and that she had never seen Murphy use drugs, describing his behavior that day as unusual.

Murphy, originally from Texas, amassed a significant following across platforms like YouTube and Instagram, where he shared content focused on bodybuilding and fitness. He identified as part of the "looksmaxxing" community, a male-dominated subculture centered on improving physical appearance, sometimes through extreme methods. His social media pages last appeared to be updated on July 3 with a video of him kicking a soccer ball indoors. The investigation into the circumstances of his death is ongoing.
