An 18-year-old from Connecticut died after a paddleboarding excursion on Jenkins Pond in Falmouth, Massachusetts, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Monday when the teenager fell into the water.

A 911 caller alerted officials that the victim had gone underwater and could not be located. First responders arrived at the scene, deployed a boat, and retrieved the individual from the pond. Life-saving measures were immediately administered before the teen was transported to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the identity of the deceased has not been officially released as of Tuesday afternoon. It remains unclear if the other individual on the paddleboard sustained any injuries.

In a separate incident on Sunday, two canoers, Casey Flynn Melia, 36, and Alexander Ferguson, 37, were found dead in Tomales Bay, California, after an overnight voyage. They failed to return as planned, prompting a search. Ferguson was found in the water, and Melia was located on shore. Both men were wearing life jackets and were pronounced dead at the scene. The details surrounding their deaths are under investigation by the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the National Park Service, and the Coast Guard. Tomales Bay is known for its cold water and hazardous conditions.
