A private island in Greenwich, Connecticut, featuring two homes, a private beach, and its own bridge, has been listed for $19.5 million. The 1.15-acre property, named Farwells Island, is situated in Long Island Sound, approximately one hour from Manhattan.

The island has been in the same family for nearly 46 years, initially serving as a primary residence before becoming a multigenerational summer compound. The property includes a 6,166-square-foot main residence with seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, built in 1936, and a separate 3,238-square-foot guest house with three ensuite bedrooms. The homes are positioned at opposite ends of the island to ensure privacy.

Recent updates include an interior refresh of the main house, extensive landscaping, and seawall repairs. The island also boasts a private beach, two swimming piers, a floating platform, a New England-style clambake area, and a climate-controlled glamping tent for two located next to the boathouse.

A significant feature of the property is its deep-water, protected dockage, capable of accommodating multiple boats. Real estate agents described this as a rare amenity along Long Island Sound, offering protection from storms like nor'easters and hurricanes.

The island's location in Greenwich places it within a wealthy waterfront community known for its boating culture. The town itself offers numerous public recreational facilities, including beaches, parks, and hiking trails. Downtown Greenwich, with its shops and restaurants, is also easily accessible.

Farwells Island was initially listed in June 2024 for $25 million, with the price reduced to $22 million later that year. It was temporarily removed from the market in January before being relisted at its current asking price. The annual property tax bill for the island is $138,256.
