Conman Serves Melbourne Couple With Court Order After They Accused Him of Dodging Debts

A Melbourne couple who had accused notorious conman Josh Howlett of dodging debts are now facing legal action from him, in a peculiar turn of events. Howlett has reportedly served the couple with an intervention order application.

The couple, who claim Howlett has "ruined lives" and left a string of alleged victims, were reportedly involved in a dispute with the convicted swindler over a photoshoot that they describe as a failure. It is unclear what the specific nature of the intervention order application is, or the grounds on which it was filed.

Howlett has a history of fraudulent activities. He has admitted to multiple prior offenses of fraud. In one instance, he allegedly received over $70,000 from Sydney actor Ben Taylor over several years for three film projects that were never completed. Taylor has stated that Howlett boasted about connections to Hollywood figures and even claimed Liam Hemsworth was a possibility to play Australian NBA star Matthew Dellavedova in a film, though Dellavedova himself was allegedly targeted to be involved in a bogus movie deal. Howlett also reportedly attempted to rope in Matthew Dellavedova for a supposed film project.

Mel Matulin, the partner of photographer Jamie Etherington, reportedly received an intervention order application after Etherington was hired by Howlett. There are also accusations that Ms. Matulin emailed Howlett's parents.

This new legal development adds another layer to the ongoing saga surrounding Josh Howlett and his alleged victims, with the accusers now finding themselves on the receiving end of legal proceedings.
