Competitor Fined After Driving Van Into Dog Show Ring
A Crufts competitor was fined £4,000 after driving a van into a show ring and making racist remarks towards a judge when her dogs were disqualified.

Marianne Hunter, 63, has been fined £4,000 for driving a van into a dog show ring and racially abusing a judge after her dogs were barred from the 'Snooty Fox' dog show in Wales. The incident occurred in June of last year when Hunter, traveling from Kent to the show in Narberth, West Wales, was informed her dogs could not compete in two categories simultaneously.
Hunter, described as a business manager for Public Health England, subsequently lost her temper, calling the judge, Tracey Hodges, a "Welsh c***." She then drove her white Ford Transit van into the show ring, knocking over a participant. Children were present in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
According to prosecutor Sian Vaughan, Hunter had "no regard for anyone else" during the incident. Her husband intervened by taking the keys to the van, preventing further escalation. Vaughan noted that if Hunter's husband had not acted, the situation could have worsened considerably, especially with young children around.
Images available online show Hunter participating in Crufts and receiving accolades, including a rosette for her lurcher. She is also listed as a committee member of the Aylesford and District Dog Training Society, which is registered with the Kennel Club.
Hunter pleaded guilty to racially aggravated intentional harassment and was found guilty of dangerous driving. She was fined £2,676 for dangerous driving and £1,115 for racially aggravated harassment. Additionally, she received a 12-month driving ban and must pass an extended driving test before being permitted to drive again.
