Commanders' Terry McLaurin Carted Off With Knee Injury on MNF

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off the field with an apparent left knee injury during Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.

McLaurin went down without contact in the first quarter of the game, with teammates and 49ers players taking a knee as he exited the field. At the time of his injury, Washington trailed San Francisco 13-3.

The Commanders, already struggling with a 1-5 record, are facing mounting injury concerns. The team is still dealing with the aftermath of a Week 5 clock-management error by quarterback Jayden Daniels. Prior to the game, McLaurin, considered a leader in the locker room, spoke about the team navigating a difficult period.

"I've just been telling our guys we're going through the fire right now," McLaurin told the ESPN broadcast crew. "You want to get to something, you gotta go through it. You can't go around it."

McLaurin entered Monday's game as Washington's leading receiver with 14 receptions for 203 yards and one touchdown. Since joining the league in 2019, he has been a consistent offensive threat, achieving five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 2020 to 2024, despite quarterback instability. An injury limited his 2025 season to 10 games.

The 49ers also sustained an injury blow before halftime, with wide receiver Mike Evans heading to the locker room after a 16-yard reception. Evans had three catches for 94 yards before his departure. San Francisco held a 20-3 lead at halftime.

Mike Evans runs on the field during a game at Levi's Stadium.

Washington's offensive depth faces further challenges, compounded by offseason addition Stefon Diggs enduring hard hits and the earlier season-ending triceps injury to star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.
