Commanders Linebacker Leo Chenal Suffers Neck Injury Against Seahawks

Washington Commanders linebacker Leo Chenal sustained a neck injury during the second quarter of the team's game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The injury occurred as Chenal attempted to tackle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson.

According to reports, Chenal appeared to lead with his head on the tackle, colliding with Wilson's knee. He immediately fell to the ground and required medical attention, with teammates surrounding him. Chenal was eventually placed on a cart and taken into the tunnel, raising his left hand as he departed the field. The Commanders later ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Initial reports indicated that Chenal had feeling in all his extremities and was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He had been filling in for Frankie Luvu, another linebacker who was sidelined with a groin issue.

The Commanders went on to secure a 33-31 victory over the Seahawks. A key moment in the game came just before halftime when backup linebacker Kain Medrano intercepted a pass from Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and returned it for a touchdown, extending Washington's lead to 33-24. Despite a late touchdown by the Seahawks, the Commanders managed to run out the clock for their first win of the season.
