Commanders Face Undefeated 49ers in Monday Night Football Showdown

The San Francisco 49ers, currently undefeated six weeks into the 2026 season, are set to host the Washington Commanders for Monday Night Football on October 19th. The Commanders, holding a 1-3-1 record, will feature Jayden Daniels at quarterback for his first start since dislocating his left arm in Week 2.

Daniels returned last Sunday, throwing for 302 yards and two touchdowns in the Commanders' overtime tie against the New York Giants. Despite his performance, the Commanders face a formidable challenge against the 49ers, who have secured victories over the Rams, Dolphins, and Broncos, along with close wins against the Cardinals and Seahawks.

Oddsmakers have installed San Francisco as 7.5-point home favorites for the matchup at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. "[They] can keep their spotless record intact as long as they can contain Jayden Daniels and the Commanders on Monday night," The Post noted. "The Commanders will come in desperate for a win after an all-time blunder last week that turned a likely win into a tie."

The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC. For those without cable, the game can be streamed for free through a five-day trial of DIRECTV's MySports genre pack, which includes both ESPN and ABC. Eli and Peyton Manning will not be broadcasting this week's game, with their return scheduled for the following week.

Monday Night Football Schedule (Week 6):

  • Oct. 19: Commanders vs. 49ers (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN / ABC)
