Comedian Gabriel Iglesias' SUV Broken Into During Oakland Visit

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias experienced a crime firsthand during a recent visit to Oakland, California. The comedian reported that his SUV was broken into while he was taking a photo near Lake Merritt.
Iglesias shared the incident on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Hello from Oakland. So beautiful. Hard to believe they broke into our SUV only 200 feet away from this pic.” The social media post included an image of Lake Merritt, with the comedian noting the proximity of the break-in.
The incident drew commentary from social media users, with some remarking that such events are not uncommon in Oakland. One user commented that the break-in was "not hard to believe at all. You’re in Oakland."
Another user recounted a similar experience, stating that a project manager at their former employer had a backpack stolen from his truck while he was at a gas station in Oakland. The stolen items reportedly included a laptop and camera equipment.
Iglesias was in Oakland to perform at the city's arena. He is currently on his "The 1976 Tour: A Fluffy Celebration," which is scheduled to continue through early 2027 with performances across North America and Australia. His next scheduled show is at the North Charleston Coliseum in South Carolina on October 16.
