Comedian Carrot Top Hospitalized in Las Vegas, Cancels Performances
The real name of the comedian, Scott Thompson, is recovering in the hospital, according to his representative.
Comedian Scott Thompson, known as Carrot Top, has been hospitalized in Las Vegas, forcing the cancellation of his scheduled performances at the Luxor Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on Friday and Saturday. His representative confirmed that Thompson is recovering and receiving the necessary care.
"Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs," Thompson's representative told Fox News Digital. "His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
Representatives for MGM Resorts, which owns Luxor, also expressed their support. "Scott is a beloved member of the Luxor and MGM Resorts family, and we are relieved to hear that he is recovering. We are thinking of him and wish him strength as he receives the care and support he needs," an MGM Resorts spokesperson stated.
Thompson has maintained a comedy residency at the Luxor since 2005, with his current contract extending through 2030. He has previously spoken about the benefits of his Las Vegas residency, noting in a 2025 appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast the advantage of not constantly traveling and being able to maintain a more regular schedule.
As of now, tickets for Carrot Top's shows later in the week remain available for purchase.
