Comedian Carrot Top was hospitalized after reportedly attempting suicide in Las Vegas, according to sources cited by TMZ. The 61-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was scheduled to perform at the Luxor Hotel and Casino on Friday night, but the show was canceled due to the incident.

Thompson's representative, Jami Schlicher, confirmed his hospitalization to the outlet, stating, "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs." Schlicher added, "His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."

Schlicher also confirmed Thompson's hospitalization to TheWrap but did not elaborate on the circumstances. Page Six reported that Schlicher did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.

Thompson has been a Las Vegas resident performer at the Luxor since 2005. Known for his prop comedy and distinctive red hair, he first gained national attention in the early 1990s through appearances on television shows such as "Comic Strip Live" and "Star Search." His career includes roles in television series like "Scrubs," "George Lopez," and "Last Comic Standing," as well as the 1998 film "Chairman of the Board" and a cameo in the 2024 Max series "Hacks."
