Comedian Scott Thompson, known by his stage name Carrot Top, was hospitalized in Las Vegas on Friday following an alleged suicide attempt, according to a report. His scheduled performance at the Luxor Theater for that evening was canceled.
TMZ reported the incident, citing sources close to the situation. Thompson was reportedly taken to a local hospital after the event occurred in the Las Vegas area. His representative, Jami Schlicher, confirmed that Thompson is recovering and receiving care. "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs," Schlicher stated. "His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
Thompson, 61, is a long-standing headliner in Las Vegas, recognized for his prop-heavy comedy and energetic stage performances. He maintains a residency at the Luxor.
