Comedian Aisling Bea was recently taken to the hospital after sustaining a finger injury from a bread knife.
The 42-year-old star shared her experience on Instagram, posting a photo from an A&E (Accident & Emergency) department with her finger heavily bandaged.
Bea described the incident in a social media caption, stating, "I sliced through my finger with a bread knife and had to go to A&E to get stitches for kneady b*****s." A subsequent close-up image revealed the extent of the injury.
This is not the first time Bea has experienced a significant injury. Last year, she recalled an incident where her shoulder dislocated during the filming of a project. She initially attributed persistent migraines to the injury but later discovered the severity of the dislocation.
"I had a terrible shoulder injury which I thought was kind of healing, but I was getting terrible migraines for about three years," Bea shared in January 2025 on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with the National Lottery on Virgin Radio. She realized the extent of the injury when watching a screening of her film "Get Away," noticing a moment on her face where she realized "That's not good." This led to a shoulder reconstruction surgery.
Bea also mentioned that the shoulder reconstruction did not go as planned due to a subsequent pregnancy. She had a screw removed during her pregnancy, which she now keeps as a memento, humorously noting her baby uses it as a rattle.
In August 2024, Bea welcomed her first child with her boyfriend, musician Jack Freeman. She has spoken about the joys of motherhood, playfully suggesting her daughter is already developing a musical inclination and could become a "big star."
