Collin Gosselin, former star of the reality television series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has shared a cryptic message on social media amid reports that his mother, Kate Gosselin, is experiencing distress over his upcoming memoir. The memoir is expected to detail his experiences growing up on the show.

Collin, 22, posted a New York Post headline to his Instagram stories that read, "Kate Gosselin 'spiraling' ahead of estranged son Collin's bombshell memoir: 'She knows it's about to hit the fan.'" He blurred out his mother's face and shared a follower's comment stating, "What's done in darkness will always come to light."

Sources indicate that Kate Gosselin, 51, was unaware of the memoir's development and is reportedly concerned about its contents. One source told the Daily Mail that Collin has not spoken to his mother since she allegedly placed him in a psychiatric facility as a child. "She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now she’s spiraling because she knows it’s about to hit the fan," the source claimed.

The Gosselin family was a fixture on TLC for years, first with "Jon & Kate Plus 8" from 2007 to 2009, and later rebranded as "Kate Plus 8" until 2017, following the parents' divorce.

Collin was reportedly diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and, at age 12, was sent by his mother to the Fairmount Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia. Kate Gosselin stated on an episode of "Kate Plus 8" that she was unable to meet his needs with her own resources at the time. Jon Gosselin has claimed he was unaware of Collin's placement until later. Kate Gosselin maintained full custody and cited a court order as justification for not informing her estranged husband of their son's whereabouts.

Despite reports that Kate Gosselin has asserted there are "zero facts" surrounding her son's claims, Collin is said to possess evidence to support his account. An insider suggested that while Kate cannot prevent the book's release, she reportedly wishes she could.

Collin's siblings, including sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Joel, and Leah, as well as twins Cara and Madelyn, are also reportedly blindsided by the memoir. According to a source, they may not know the full truth of Collin's experiences beyond what their mother has shared.

Collin announced his memoir, titled "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," was set for an October release. He shared an image from his childhood with his mother's hand covering his mouth, writing that he had long been unsure if he would tell his story. He described his childhood as being watched by millions, but with much of his experience unseen and untold due to fear, disbelief, or unpreparedness.

Collin stated that writing the book involved revisiting difficult moments but ultimately helped him find his voice. He emphasized that his memoir will present a different perspective than what the public might assume, stating, "It’s the story I’ve lived."
