Collin Gosselin's Stepmom Praises Him Amid Memoir's Success and Abuse Allegations

Stephanie Lebo, wife of Jon Gosselin and stepmother to Collin Gosselin, has publicly lauded Collin following the success of his memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood." The book, released on October 13, details abuse allegations against Collin's mother, Kate Gosselin, who has denied the claims. Lebo took to social media to commend her 22-year-old stepson, whose memoir has held the number one spot on The New York Times Best Seller list for two consecutive weeks.

"Collin, you are changing the world, and I hope you truly understand that," Lebo wrote in a social media post. She added that Collin has transformed difficult life experiences into a source of help for others, noting, "You spent so many years fighting to be heard, and now the world is listening." She expressed her belief that Collin is "kind, intelligent, strong, and so incredibly loved" and assured him that he is "SEEN. You are HEARD. And most importantly, you have nothing left to prove to anyone."

Collin, who rose to fame on the TLC reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has also spoken out about his book's success and the support he has received. In a recent post, he thanked his followers, stating, "You remind me every day that there is so much more love in this world than cruelty." He directly addressed his mother, writing, "To my mother, who continues to spread lies in an attempt to conceal her abuse and break my spirit, it’s not working. My determination to speak out for survivors will always be stronger than your attempts to silence me."

Lebo shared Collin's post on her Instagram Stories, adding, "Dad and I are so proud. Forget the noise!" Jon Gosselin, Collin's father, also commented on his wife's post, expressing his love and pride.

In a 2023 interview with Vice TV, Collin accused his mother of abuse and claimed she treated him differently from his siblings. Kate Gosselin has previously responded to these allegations, stating in a comment on a TikTok video that her son has "received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years" and was placed in a facility for his own well-being and the safety of his siblings. She asserted, "I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that's all that matters."

Collin and his father, Jon, share custody of Hannah and Collin, while Kate Gosselin has custody of their other children. The couple divorced in 2009 after rising to fame with their reality television show, which aired for five seasons and garnered significant viewership.
