Collin Gosselin Expresses 'Rage' Towards Estranged Mother on 'Special Forces'
During a challenging task on the reality competition series, the son of Kate Gosselin confronted his deep-seated anger towards his mother.
Collin Gosselin, son of reality television personality Kate Gosselin, channeled his anger toward his estranged mother during a recent episode of the Fox competition series "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test." The challenge required recruits to exhibit controlled aggression, acting as a "lunatic killer" before ceasing on command.
In a confessional, Collin stated, "I’m here because my mother has taken a lot of things away from me, but this course is something she can’t take away." He elaborated, "She took away my childhood, she took away my freedom — and I have a lot of anger."
Ahead of the task, a directing staff member encouraged Collin, "I want you to go crazy right now. When you see red, that’s your mom." Another staff member later instructed him, "This is your chance for revenge. Use that anger, use that rage."
During the challenge, Collin exhibited outward signs of rage, screaming as he performed the task. Following his efforts, a staff member guided him through a decompression exercise, noting, "That was your decompression there. To release all those demons. Now, it’s done."
Collin's participation in "Special Forces" comes amid renewed public attention due to his recent memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood." In the book, released on Oct. 13, Collin made allegations against his mother, including claims that she isolated him from his siblings and confined him to a "small holding cell" for two years. He also recounted an incident where he claimed Kate allegedly dragged him by the ear with such force that his ear swelled.
Kate Gosselin has denied these accusations. In public statements, she has made counter-allegations against Collin, including claims of a "history of violent behavior with weapons towards people, the killing of animals, his regular use of racial slurs, and his ‘physical behavior.’"
A representative for Collin, Adriane Schwartz, refuted Kate's claims, stating, "Collin has never used a weapon to harm a family member, nor has he ever harmed or killed an animal in his lifetime. These allegations are categorically false... To publicly accuse your innocent child of such heinous acts to protect your reputation is beyond reprehensible."
Prior to the episode's airing, Collin shared a motivational quote on Instagram: "You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option."
