Collin Gosselin Claims Mother Kate Took Over $100,000 from Children's Show Earnings

Collin Gosselin, son of former reality television stars Kate and Jon Gosselin, has claimed that his mother, Kate Gosselin, misappropriated over $100,000 from his and his siblings' earnings from their TLC show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8." Collin made these allegations during an interview with Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea," stating he has seen documentation proving his mother's admission to taking the funds.

"I want [my siblings] to hear this: I want them to know that, yes, she did take your money, she took all of our money, she took money from us," Collin, 22, stated. He further alleged that the money was used to furnish a lake house in North Carolina.

According to court documents filed in 2019, Kate Gosselin acknowledged taking two $50,000 payments from the children's trust, which she described as "borrowed" and intended for "her and the children's expenses." That same year, she purchased a lake house in North Carolina for $750,000.

As of August 2022, Jon Gosselin reported that neither Collin nor his sister Hannah, who are in his custody, had been reimbursed by Kate, despite a judge's order for repayment plans. "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which chronicled the lives of Kate and Jon Gosselin raising eight children, aired from 2007 to 2009. It was later rebranded as "Kate Plus 8" and concluded in 2017 following the couple's divorce.

Collin, who is currently participating in "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test," also discussed his new memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood." In the book, he details alleged childhood abuse, including claims of being isolated, zip-tied, and forced to take antipsychotic medication. He asserts that his mother's alleged mistreatment stemmed from his disinterest in filming the reality show.

Kate Gosselin has previously responded to similar accusations, stating in a July 2023 Instagram post that Collin had received multiple psychiatric diagnoses and was placed in a facility for his safety and the well-being of himself and his siblings. She described his behavior as unpredictable and violent, and suggested his "distorted perception of reality" led to "complete fabrications."

Collin claims that, apart from Hannah, he has had no contact with his siblings Mady, Cara, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel since he was 15. He believes his mother's alleged manipulation created a rift, making his siblings perceive him as "withdrawn" and "angry."
