Collin Gosselin, 22, shared a pointed social media message about his mother, Kate Gosselin, by posting a blurred image of her face. The post came ahead of the release of his memoir, titled "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood."

Gosselin reshaped a social media post from The Post, which featured a headline stating, "Kate Gosselin ‘spiraling’ ahead of estranged son Collin’s bombshell memoir: ‘She knows it’s about to hit the fan.'" He added a fan comment to the reshared post that read, "What’s done in darkness will always come to light." The music accompanying the post was Han Zimmer’s track “Day One” from the film "Interstellar."

A representative for Kate Gosselin did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Sources close to the situation reported that Kate Gosselin, 51, was unaware of her son’s plans to release a book detailing his childhood experiences. An insider told the Daily Mail that the reality star had not spoken to Collin since he was institutionalized as a child. The source added that Kate is now "spiraling" due to the impending release, despite previously alleging that Collin's accusations are false. The source also claimed that Collin’s seven siblings, including his sextuplet siblings Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah, and twin sisters Cara and Madelyn, 25, will also be surprised by the book's contents.

Earlier in June, Collin released the cover art for his memoir, which depicted his mother covering his mouth when he was a child. According to his publisher, the book will explore Collin's "never-before-told story of how [he] escaped and found his way back from the dark." The memoir is described as a "reckoning with the dark side of fame: the systems, the entourage, and the institutions that allowed one boy to be erased."

The book is expected to detail Collin's experiences, including allegations of being "held down, the basement cell where he was hidden for years and the cocktail of powerful antipsychotics forced on an 11-year-old boy."

Collin Gosselin rose to fame alongside his parents and siblings on the TLC reality series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which aired from 2007 to 2017. He is one of eight children shared by Kate and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin. Jon and Kate were married from 1999 to 2009, and Jon received sole custody of Collin in 2018. Collin has previously accused Kate of child abuse and exploitation, claims she has denied. In 2023, his sister Madelyn accused Collin of "physical violence and hate speech" in an interview.

Collin’s memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," is scheduled for release on October 13.
