Collin Gosselin, 22, has accused his estranged mother, Kate Gosselin, of praying to God to stop herself from hitting him when he was two years old. The allegations were made via his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, ahead of the release of his new memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight," scheduled for October 13.

"Never forget the fact that my mom would write in her diary how she ‘had to pray to God to stop hitting me’ (this was while I was 2 years old by the way)," Collin claimed on social media. He stated that sharing these experiences is important to him, asserting, "And this is why using my voice to put these things in the light is so important."

Collin has been vocal about the upcoming book, describing it as "the story I’ve lived" and warning that it is not "the story people think they know." He previously stated that writing the memoir involved revisiting difficult moments and helped him find his voice.

He also shared a social media post about Kate's reported reaction to the memoir's impending release, with a headline suggesting she was "spiraling" and knew "it's about to hit the fan." Collin added his own caption to a blurred photo of his mother, writing, "What’s done in darkness will always come to light."

An insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that Kate and Collin have not communicated since his childhood institutionalization. The insider claimed Kate is "spiraling" and did not anticipate these revelations. According to the report, Kate has allegedly told others that her son's accusations, including claims of being tied up in a basement, are baseless. She has previously denied such allegations.

Kate Gosselin herself addressed the possibility of legal action via TikTok, stating on Monday that she cannot sue Collin for defamation because she is a public figure. She commented, "Or I def would! I consulted a high power LA attorney (you’ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that’s what he said."

Kate and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, rose to fame on the TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which chronicled their lives with their eight children: sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Aaden, Joel, Alexis, and Leah, and twins Madelyn and Cara. Kate and Jon were married from 1999 to 2009. Jon Gosselin was granted sole custody of Collin in 2018.
