Collin Gosselin, son of former reality television stars Jon and Kate Gosselin, is set to release a tell-all memoir detailing allegations of abuse against his mother, Kate Gosselin. The book is expected to include claims that Kate Gosselin sent him to a psychiatric hospital at the age of 12.

In a statement, Collin Gosselin said the memoir will address experiences that viewers of their TLC show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," never saw. He stated that for years he kept these experiences private out of fear and a belief that he would not be believed, but writing the book has given him "voice."

Collin Gosselin claims his mother institutionalized him to "protect her reputation." He recounted being sent away at 12 years old without knowing where he was going, describing it as one of the most frightening experiences of his life. He stated that after this, his relationship with his mother deteriorated further.

Collin and his sister Hannah began living with their father, Jon Gosselin, in 2018. Jon Gosselin has spoken about the estrangement between Collin and his other siblings, noting that Collin had "no contact" with them, while Hannah maintained communication with their mother.

Previously, Collin Gosselin told The Sun that his mother had confined him to a room multiple times as a child, allegedly zip-tying his hands and feet, bolt-locking the door, and placing cameras to watch him. Kate Gosselin's attorney has previously denied the abuse allegations, stating that the facts contradict the claims and that she did not intentionally harm her children.

The reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" aired from 2007 to 2009, documenting the lives of Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight children, including twins Mady and Cara, and sextuplets. Following their divorce, the show was rebranded as "Kate Plus 8" and continued until 2017.

Jon Gosselin stated at the time of their divorce filing in 2009 that his priority was the children's happiness, health, and safety. Kate Gosselin, in a statement, cited Jon's activities as necessitating legal procedures to protect herself and their children.
