College Football Player Killed, Teammate Arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter in Texas Crash

Southeastern Oklahoma State University defensive end Dylan Sebock was killed in a rollover crash early Thursday in Sherman, Texas. The driver of the vehicle, identified as his teammate and linebacker De’Taurean Johnson, has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Sebock, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police responded to the crash, which occurred just before 1 a.m. on U.S. Highway 75, after receiving multiple calls. According to authorities, both occupants were ejected from the vehicle, with Sebock found approximately 15 feet from the service road.

Johnson was located lying in the roadway and initially fled the scene on foot before being detained. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and is being held in the Grayson County Jail.

Investigators from Sherman's Critical Accident Investigation Team determined that Johnson was driving while intoxicated. Evidence collected at the scene established probable cause for the intoxication manslaughter charge.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University released a statement acknowledging the tragedy. "We are deeply saddened to confirm that one student has died as a result of the accident. The other student was hospitalized," the university stated. "Our hearts are with their families, friends, teammates, and all those affected by this tragic loss. The University is providing support and resources to members of our campus community who have been impacted."

The family of Dylan Sebock confirmed his death to KXII 12. In a statement, they expressed their grief, saying, "There is a hole in our family that can never be filled. No parent should ever have to bury their child."
