A college football fan who became an internet sensation after being featured on ESPN during the Florida Gators' upset victory over Ole Miss has identified herself on social media. The freshman student, Peyton Blomquist, was captured by ESPN cameras in the stands as Florida defeated the previously fourth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels 52-28.
Blomquist, 18, was watching the game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium with a friend when a cameraman focused on her. The brief appearance sparked a flurry of activity on social media as viewers attempted to identify the spectator.
On Sunday, Blomquist confirmed her identity by sharing a screenshot of her viral television moment on her Instagram account. She captioned the post, "Work the cut," referencing a slogan used by Florida head coach Jon Sumrall.
The post led to a surge in her online following, with her Instagram followers increasing to over 37,000 and her TikTok following surpassing 32,000 within two days.
Blomquist is a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at the University of Florida and was wearing an orange ZTA patch on her outfit during the game. She is also pursuing a pre-med track at the university and was the salutatorian of her high school class in Lake Mary.
This incident follows a similar viral moment from weeks prior, when another college football fan, Sara Smith, an Ole Miss alum, caught the attention of ESPN's cameras during the team's game against Louisville. Smith later shared some of the unsolicited messages she received following her appearance, detailing messages ranging from suggestive comments to praise of her appearance.
