A 22-year-old college baseball player was fatally shot by police officers early Sunday morning in Upper Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, after he drunkenly attempted to enter the wrong house.

Glenwood 'Bubba' Pysher was reportedly celebrating a friend's birthday on Saturday night when the group decided to move to a friend's house. Pysher began walking to the location but arrived at a different residence on Snyder Road. He then began knocking on the door, believing it to be his friend's house.

The couple inside the home contacted police to report a potential break-in. Responding officers located Pysher at the rear of the property. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office stated that officers discharged their weapons, striking Pysher twice. His mother, Erin, told WPVI that her son was unarmed and carrying only a cellphone and a book bag.

Family friends have raised questions about the incident, with one, Kia, asking if the situation could have been de-escalated. Another friend, Wendy Hasara, called for justice and for Pysher's death to prevent future tragedies.

Pysher was preparing to play baseball at Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey. He was remembered by friends and family as a dedicated athlete and a well-respected individual with a bright future. His mother described him as a "lovable goofball."
