Jost remarked, "Kristi Noem said that she’s sad about the divorce but is always happy to separate another family." The joke, which alluded to Noem's role in Donald Trump's immigration policies, elicited groans from the studio audience.
In the same segment, co-host Michael Che also addressed news reports concerning Donald Trump, specifically his claims that a new White House ballroom would house armed drones. Che quipped that the room would also feature "a moat and an elevator and a laser gun and a giant waterslide!"
