Coleen Rooney Celebrates Husband Wayne's Birthday Amid Documentary Success
Coleen Rooney shared a heartfelt birthday message for her husband Wayne, highlighting their recent Marrakesh getaway and the success of their new Disney documentary, "The Real Rooneys."
Coleen Rooney took to Instagram on Saturday to wish her husband, former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, a happy birthday. The couple, both 40, appeared joyful in a photograph shared from their recent trip to Marrakesh, Morocco.
"Happy Birthday @waynerooney... love you x," Coleen captioned the post, describing their getaway as a "beautiful few days away."
The couple's trip was a rare occasion for them to spend time together without their four sons: Kai, 16, Klay, 13, Kit, 10, and Cass, 8. This break followed the recent launch of their Disney+ documentary series, "The Real Rooneys."
The fly-on-the-wall series, filmed last year, offers an intimate look into the Rooney family's life. While Coleen gained popularity during her stint on "I'm a Celebrity," the family's reality show has garnered mixed reviews from critics. The Daily Mail's Christopher Stevens gave the series a one-star review, criticizing its failure to address Wayne Rooney's past controversies, calling the portrayal "deceitful."
Despite critical reception, "The Real Rooneys" proved popular with viewers, attracting 230,000 households in its first week. Coleen Rooney attributed her decision to participate in the reality show to the "love and support off the public" she experienced while on "I'm a Celebrity."
This period has also been financially successful for Coleen. New figures reveal that her earnings for the year ending September 2025 reached £2.4 million, a significant increase from £580,779 in the previous year. This financial surge occurred when Coleen became the primary earner for the family, notably through her role on "I'm a Celebrity," where she reportedly earned £1.5 million as the highest-paid star, and her fashion line for Primark, while Wayne was dismissed from his managerial role at Plymouth Argyle.
