Pop star Cody Simpson is navigating simultaneous health challenges, including vocal cord surgery and a dislocated knee, which have temporarily sidelined his efforts to restart his music career. The 28-year-old artist announced the setbacks on Instagram, describing the situation as "forced rest."

Simpson underwent vocal cord surgery after experiencing a hemorrhage on one of his cords, a condition that required nearly three months of recovery. This procedure led to the postponement of promotional appearances and stalled work on his forthcoming album. Shortly after, he dislocated his knee while filming a music video, although he completed the shoot despite the injury.

These health issues have interrupted Simpson's return to music following his pursuit of a swimming career. Last year, he paused his music career to train for the 2024 Paris Olympics, achieving two Commonwealth Games medals during that period. However, his Olympic aspirations ended when he failed to qualify for the Games.

Simpson had expressed his commitment to his swimming training, stating he had "left nothing to the unknown these past four years" and had "covered every other little detail to take this as far it could go." Since returning to his music career, he has released the singles "Baby Blue" and "When It Comes to Loving You."
