WWE star Cody Rhodes announced Tuesday the death of his dog, Pharaoh. Rhodes shared a lengthy and emotional tribute on social media, accompanied by photos of his family with the husky.

In his post, Rhodes described Pharaoh as a loyal companion who was always present during significant moments in his life. He recounted instances of Pharaoh's playful nature and protective instincts, noting how the dog seemed to understand his emotional state during difficult times. "He was always with us, and when my world got turned upside down…he sat outside with me looking at the Texas stars until the sky started to shift and he pressed his head against me firmly in a way that let me know he understood," Rhodes wrote. "It goes without saying, he was a good boy."

Rhodes also reflected on Pharaoh's unique experiences within the wrestling world, including being featured on merchandise and participating in charity events. He highlighted the dog's bond with his daughter, Liberty, describing Pharaoh's role as a protector. "His job was to be with her. Maybe he wanted to protect her," Rhodes stated. "When you watch GOT one night late on tv and decide you want a little wolf pup, it would be fitting to say "your watch has ended", but I’d rather say the last thing I told you before you went to forever sleep, you did your job. We love you."

Pharaoh was frequently seen with Rhodes on WWE programming. The announcement of Pharaoh's death prompted numerous messages of condolence from within the professional wrestling community, including from figures such as The Miz, Nick Jackson, and Renee Paquette.
