CNN's Kasie Hunt presented a montage of remarks from former President Donald Trump, compiling his frequent assertions that Iran was actively seeking a deal to resolve the conflict. The supercut, aired on Thursday, juxtaposed Trump's repeated claims that Iran's leaders "want to make a deal so badly" with the reality that no such agreement has materialized and a fragile ceasefire recently collapsed.

Just hours before Hunt's segment, Trump had again stated that Iran "called a little while ago" because they "want to make a deal so badly."

The compilation featured Trump's statements made between March 23 and the present day, including phrases such as "They want to make a deal," "And they want a deal so badly," "It’s looking very good that we’re going to make a deal," and "They wanna make a deal so badly."

Following the presentation of the montage, Hunt questioned conservative commentator Jonah Goldberg about the outcome of these purported negotiations. Goldberg responded, stating, "There's no deal." He further elaborated that even a previous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was merely an agreement to discuss coming up with a deal, which was intended to last 60 days and was never extended.
