CNN anchor Erin Burnett on Monday questioned the accuracy of former President Donald Trump's statements regarding the state of Iran's military capabilities during his term. The segment came as the U.S. resumed strikes against Iran after the collapse of a ceasefire.

Burnett highlighted that the White House had informed Congress that current military actions were targeting "missile launch sites, air defenses, military maritime assets, military support infrastructure and command and control capabilities." She contrasted this with Trump's repeated claims that such Iranian assets had been "totally wiped out" and "eviscerated" during his administration's 136-day campaign against Iran.

"Because isn’t this what Trump has already said again and again and again was already accomplished by his 136-day war?" Burnett asked, referencing a montage of Trump's past statements.

Following the compilation of Trump's claims, Burnett stated, "Of course, that is not true." She cited intelligence assessments indicating that Iran retains approximately 70% of its prewar missile stockpile and 70% of its launchers, directly challenging the notion that its military capabilities were comprehensively dismantled during Trump's presidency.
