CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer issued a clarification on Monday, correcting a statement made during a discussion about President Donald Trump's executive order concerning mail-in voting. Blitzer had suggested that U.S. troops stationed abroad could be impacted by the directives.

During a segment on "The Situation Room" with Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, Blitzer stated that military personnel rely on mail-in ballots. Spanberger affirmed this, explaining that service members overseas receive their ballots at their postings.

However, later in the program, Blitzer clarified his remarks. "I want to be clear right now: those ballots are exempt from the Postal Service’s new rules implementing the president’s March executive order," he told viewers. He specified that these voters are covered under the Uniformed and Overseas Absentee Voting Act.

The initial discussion involved legal challenges to the Trump administration's directives for the Postal Service regarding mail-in voting. A federal judge had previously placed a temporary restraining order on the executive order.
